NOBODY'S ROBOT
Pick a word you feel best describes the year 2020 – exhausting, overwhelming, challenging, shitshow, so on and so forth. It was during this time that Nobody’s Robot, the new solo project from Michael Joncas of The Kneads and Harrison Ford Mustang, was born. Song
skeletons were created and fleshed out with the help of Scotty Sandwich at his studio, The Sandwich Shoppe, located outside of Durham, NC. Friends were invited to help breathe life into the music. Zac Lassiter (Toothsome, Harrison Ford Mustang) took the demos and added his spin to the blueprints, filling out all the beats. Other friends added their visions to the tunes. Maria Albani (Organos, Schooner), Kerry and Dave Cantwell (Horizontal Hold, Drug Yacht, Blab School, Forced Fun – the list goes on forever), Melvin Holland (The Kneads, Harrison Ford Mustang), Eric Mann (Kudzu Wish, Basement Life, Toothsome), James Menefee (Fun Size, River City High, Long Arms), and David Simutis (Denver Meatpacking Company), were given carte blanche to make the songs shine. One can hear the influences of bands like Samiam, Dag Nasty, The Replacements to name a few, as well as the dark period of time the songs developed, sprinkled throughout the ten tracks on Lose Your Delusion. |
